Oceanside provides adult education classes every other month, at no charge. Classes are instructed by League Certified Instructors. Traffic School 101 (TS101) includes 3 hour of classroom instruction & 6 hours of on road skill instruction. See our Bike Shorts video on Smart Cycling that talks about the class. Through a SANDAG grant, BikeWalk Oceanside conducts bike safety assemblies and bike rodeos at area elementary schools. A half hour assembly on a school day is followed by a bike skill rodeo on the weekend. Students are taught the importance of wearing helmets and obeying the traffic laws. Contact us if you would like to volunteer.
States, cities and towns are asking their planners and engineers to build road networks that are safer, more livable, and welcoming to motorists, bicyclists, public transit riders, and pedestrians. To date, more than 300 U.S. jurisdictions have adopted Complete Streets policies.
